[School Time]

I have two issues that keep coming up. I give an assignment on Google Classroom. A pdf that I edit with text boxes. I almost always have one or two kids who can't type on it. Everyone else can. Any idea why?

I use two laptops at once. I use one for my Smartboard and to present. I use the other to see the kids on the Google Meet. Today, the laptop with the kids on it had almost everyone camera off and their avatars showing (or their initial.) Their cameras were on using the main laptop. Later, it switched which computer had the problem. Any suggestions?

Thank you. We had very little Google training. I have learned a lot but there is still a lot to learn. And some things are hard to look up.

I don’t know about the pdf one, but...

When we are on meets for school meetings, cameras often flicker on and off. The IT people tell us it has to do with internet capacity. Their picture might appear for a bit but then disappear. Often, it resets things, too - like today, everyone flickered and then EVERYONE’S camera turned on, even if they had manually turned it off.

Honestly, I usually start meets with my camera on to greet everyone but then turn it off, because my connection works better that way. I teacher middle school, though, and I don’t have any rules about that - there are some kids whose faces I haven’t seen this year. I’m okay with that, bc a) they don’t all have homes they want others to see and b) they’re a little older. I think if I still taught second grade my rules would be different.

We are only required to be on ten minutes out of each half hour period. But with second grade it isn't necessarily giving assignments. The primary teachers have been saying that we are on all the time. Very exhausting!
