Is it easy to get a job in Montgomery County, MD? Does anyone live there? Also, should I tell them that I got into a school for being a vision teacher? Would that hurt me or help me? I hear there is a shortage. It will be part time. BTW I am certified in SPED (secondary). What is it like in Montgomery County? I have a screening interview to do for them.

I live nearby. It's a suburb of DC, large district, well-thought of in generally. I have a friend who works there and likes it. Because it's a large district, they probably have many openings which is a help in getting a job. Because it's well-thought of, though, they do have a number of applicants. Good area to live in. Best of luck!!

Thanks. Maybe being certified in SPED could help me.

certification would definitely be a plus. There are good areas and not so good areas in Montgomery County. The school district was ranked 4th in the state in 2018. It's a big district. They always have openings and as cruxian said, lots of applicants.

It is an expensive area to live in, and traffic in the area is frequently bad.

PM me if you have any specific questions. Good luck with your screening interview.

I lived in Maryland for three years. That county is harder to get into than the others around there. They wanted to interview me once but I was going out of state (home) for spring break and they wouldn’t budge on the interview date. I ended up going to Prince George. I liked it there. I was at an elementary school though. I heard that not all schools in Prince George were good. But I found mine was better than the one I was at in Charles Co.
