Couple questions for NC teachers

I have tried searching online but can't find definitive answers. We are trying to relocate at some point and I'm researching options.

My masters was earned in another state in 2011. Would I be paid at a BA or MA rate? I saw they might bring masters pay back but no articles say if it went through.

Job descriptions - are behavior support teachers in charge of a class of behavior kids who may mainstream or do they go to classes to help behavior kids?

Do sped resource teachers usually pull out or push in?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I don't know about pay. I would check with the state

As for your other questions... I'm pretty sure it depends on the district. I've worked in 3 and it's a little different in each one.

Thank you! There seem to be several different types of sped jobs so I am excited to find out more when I apply.

I taught in NC and earned my Masters in another state and was paid at the MA rate, they will honor it. If you google NC teacher salary one of the first links should be for NC DPI and a teacher salary pdf for you to look at for salary ranges.

I worked in a few different schools when I lived there and it varied - one EC (SPED) teacher had her own classroom and some students would go to other classes for short time.

EC teachers can pull out and push in and this was done at the elementary and middle school levels. They aim to have more push in as they get older because the high schools, in my district, were basically all inclusion with the regular ed classroom and the EC Teacher was in there for additional support/teaching.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! That does help and I am looking at Johnston or Wake county for job. I've been off work since winter break, part of me misses it but part of me is already stressed about going back into a school. I am curious about a new building though.
