Rope wall turned out differently than planned

Because planning and measuring twice really isnít my thing and after two trips to the store for rope my DH refused to go again so I had to improvise. This area of my house is a little dangerous since the step doesnít extend the whole length of the landing so I wanted a room divider that would discourage anyone from walking right there. Here are my before and after shots.

It looks like it will serve the purpose of alerting others about that step in your home. Considering you got this done so quickly without any prior experience Iíd say you deserve a Ďsocially distantí pat on the back!

Looks like you can continue adding to what you started as you are able to get more cord material. If you donít want to add more complex knot patterns, maybe you can eventually buy wooden beads that you can slide onto the cords between knots in a decorative pattern. In the meantime, Iím sure youíll be able to find more pattern ideas online if you decide to add more.

Oh! Another suggestion, again, if you eventually want to add more to your divider, is to work on learning some of the knots on a smaller scale with thinner, shorter cord so youíre not dealing with long tangled lengths. Just a thought.

I like it! It does the needed job but is open so it doesn't divide up the room or obscure the view. Great idea!!

Looks good. Floor plants could also work.
