....... with cases of COVID-19

Very, very scary.

Happily, we are not leading in deaths. Let's keep it that way. Flatten the curve.

Not the way to lead

If we could be number one in anything, why does it half to be in cases of this virus?

My husband discovered it this afternoon. He found it as I was reading an article that popped up on my phone about the virus situation in Tokyo. My son was a little harsh with me this morning, probably just the tension he is feeling about this, but all of this just hit me and I've been upset all evening.

I want to be positive about all of this. There will be good come from it. There's always some good from bad times. Still what I want is peace. I need a calm in my soul. This scripture is reassuring to me:
1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Psalms 42:5 (KJV)
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”

That is not good. We have a billion less people than China. Right? That does not make sense to me. Does that mean that possibly we have medically identified more cases than they did in China?

Well, that's not something anyone wants to lead in, but I think this Daily Wire article gives some hope.

Regarding China, there is speculation from many sources on whether or not they reported accurate numbers.

I’m sure China’s numbers are probably underreported, but we have so few tests, ours are vastly underreported. We may well be #1

I agree. The U.S. numbers could be underreported, but if so, that means the death rate is lower than we think.

Our numbers are vastly under reported. For days now in my state they've said the only people who can get tests are healthcare workers and those whose symptoms are so severe that they require immediate hospitalization. Pretty scary that the numbers continue to rise rapidly every day even under those strict restrictions.

Regarding China, we know China lies. They didn't report all their numbers. Let's not forget that just last week they told their people our military planted the coronavirus to China. https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2...us-propaganda/

Let's also remember China just sold a bunch of testing kits to Spain and Spain had to send a bunch back because they were only 30 percent effective. Do you think they used those tests on their own people?

that isn't the America First people hoped for.

Just follow all the regulations, stay safe and flatten the curve.

No, it won't magically disappear by April. Yes, at sometime we will be over the curve but will still have to stick with precautions about contact and sanitizing everything. We can do this. We can do this for as long as it takes.

Yes, quite shocking and sad that we're now beating China AND Italy. But with the people we saw dancing away on the beaches in FL and other places, crazy stories you hear about people purposefully coughing on food, etc., then maybe so.

This just shows that people in other countries are probably taking this more seriously than the people in the U.S. and taking better precautions.

The positive I see is that we aren't that far ahead of Italy, yet our population is 5 times theirs! Let's hope our surge slows soon!

Sadly, the US still is not testing enough. So of course there is under reporting by our government. I don't care where other countries are at, I only wish the feds would get the tests needed to help all those that need them. I would hate to hear we have revered to having to decide who lives, who dies.

what is truly disturbing is the situations for hospitals and PPE, particularly in New York City. They don't have enough equipment to treat patients. That is the reality and that is where the focus has to be - get the equipment where it is needed. As in yesterday, already.

They want to send people up north to hospitals where there isn't hardly any cases. Sorry but it's scary...I do have a heart but worry about my own family.
