You could incorporate some of the Hollywood Theme Ideas under Collections

They have the new decoration set for "Our Class Rocks!" It would be perfect for a 5th grade class. There are posters, welcome chart, several rock star cut outs, guitar cut outs and a tour bus. Then there is coordinating bulletin board border and etc. Its in the KY. teacher stores and some of the teacher catalogs. It looks cute. We are doing teamwork as our school theme so everyone is a sports team so I am incorporating a sports theme. I wish I had just thought to be the A----- rockstars and then I could have used it.

what subject(s) do you teach? i always try to tie the theme into the curriculum. i teach science and social studies, so for science, you could make a poster with the types of rocks and dress them up like rockstars (i'm weird) or for math you could get billboard info on popstars the kids are familiar with and come up with math/word problems using the stats. you could do a current events board, and talk about their "rock stars", research their fav singers favorite subjects in school, what sports/activities they participated in, their goals inlife. anything to encourage learning

I think this idea came from Proteacher. We made homework rocks because homework rocks! They added hair, guitars, etc. I attached a pic of few of them.

I teach math, and love the idea of using rock star info as word problems. Thanks.
