Sorry you are experiencing side effects, and I hope you can shake the migraine and feel better quickly. I have no experience with migraine, so no advice. But I do have a couple of questiins. Which brand of vaccine did you receive? Moderna or Pfizer? Have you had a reaction to other vaccinations before?

Excedrin and sleep in a completely dark room for my migraines.

Out of curiosity, have you previously had Covid (that you know of)?
I am seeing a lot of reports that people who experience side effects with the first shot are the people who have already had Covid.

I was thinking the same thing. I also haven't seen migraine as a side effect. Are you prone to them?

Feel better quickly!

Sorry to hear you have side effects. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Excedrin Migraine is my go-to when I have a bad headache. Always effective.

Hope the side effects go away and you feel 100% better quickly!

I am so sorry that you are experiencing a headache.

I do remember that you tested positive for the antibodies recently. Do they ask about that before administering the shot?

I hope you get quick relief.

DS had first shot in Dec. and is prone to headaches and migranes. He had heard from others that these were side effects and so he took Advil before shot and had no reactions afterwards.

He just got shot 2 on Monday. Again he took Advil, but had headache and fatigue for a day. Better than covid though!

After reading the other comments below, my son is a swimmer, so he gets plenty of arm exercise and water everyday. So that makes sense that both are important! I remember when he got the flu shots years ago and then went straight to swim practice. The nurse said it was actually helpful to prevent the aches.

water?

Several in my school system got their vaccines yesterday. They were being told move, move, move. That was for arm pain, but I imagine some exercise will help move things through your system. I'm a believer that water is important to flush the system as well, so that drinking plenty, but not excessive amount of water would be my advice.

Was this your first shot?

I have heard from health professionals that side effects seem to be worse and more common with the second. They even suggested scheduling the second (or your schedule) so that you have two days after with no work or plans.

I'm sorry you are feeling so lousy.

Might be good if you contacted your doctor for advice.
Did you report the side effects as suggested?
Which brand vaccine did you receive?

Are your prone to migraines?
Or is this a severe on going headache? Could you been exposed to Covid19 before getting the vaccine? I would definitely talk to your doctor.

Migraines:

- Drink a TON of water. If you think you drank enough - drink more

- a cold ice pack or cloth on the forehead

- cool, dark room

- try to sleep

Hope you feel better soon

I will, I ended up getting my shot today too. We drove an hour and a half to a small farming community bc that was the only location available. My husband got his shot and inquired as to whether theyíd have any extra. They asked us to hang around an extra fifteen minutes to see what they had left. They ended up having several doses. So, they let me have one and called a few other people from the community.
I guess once the vial is open, they have a six hour window to use it. Theyíd rather give it to someone who is there than throw it away.

No, I'm not prone to them, maybe it's just a super bad headache. I feel like I have to hold or press my forehead to tolerate it. (feeling better now)

Heard this

I heard this was a side effect some people experienced. I think it's being downplayed to make sure it doesn't prevent people from getting the vaccine.

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you feel better soon! Sleep is always the best treatment from migraine, although nothing ever fully works.

I am sorry about the headache! Migraines are the pits! I used to get then often but once I started working out they completely stopped. Obvious that won't help you having it as a reaction to the vaccine. I am glad you are finally feeling better! Did you go in today?

I'm glad your feeling better. My friend who got the vaccine at Christmas had headaches for 10 days after 1st dose. And the lady told her when she got her a second dose that the side effects will most likely be worse.

I have also heard if youíve had covid, side effects are worse because you have the antibodies. Iím assuming that is why the 2nd dose is worse.
