Revolutionary War, Civil War

Clip to ScrapBook #1

We will soon begin the Revoluntary War and three weeks later the Civil War. I use a lot of storybooks to help the children understand like "Sam the Minuteman, Buttons for George Washington, Why don't You Ride a HOrse, Samuel Adams?" and other books. We do some acting out parts which the kids love. How do you teach these topics? Do you have special projects that you do for these units? I've done the same thing for so long that I'm needing some fresh ideas to keep me motivated as well as the children. Thank you.

I use the American Girl Felicity series. The students really enjoy them! (And there are lots of strong boy parts, they aren't just for girls)

This rubric is fantastic I do the same thing but could not figure how to score them. You know you can also film them with a flip camera. On the last day of school I have parents come in and look at their visuals and the film of each kid and their project. Thanks for your idea I will definately use it.
