Piggyback(ish) on insurance woes

This is more about customer service.

Back in March, I ordered two reams of tissue paper from a company called Bags and Bows (and yes I’m calling them out by name). Paid by credit card and paper arrived. In May, a duplicate order was shipped to my house. I did not place this order.

I tried contacting company, but no one answers the phone or emails. Luckily, I got a “how was our service?” Survey and laid out my plight. Actually received a phonecall and was told “weird…there must have been a glitch. No worries. We’ll remove the bill.”

Cutting to the chase: I’ve received 3 notices of overdue payment. Each time I try to call, no one answers the phone. I managed to finally get through to their collections department, told my story, and was transferred back to customer service….who never answer the phone.

More unanswered emails and finally a snail mail letter to their corporate office. Nothing.

Two weeks ago I got a notice that from a collection agency. I was never so happy! Finally, someone I can talk to. I called, told my story and the collection agency will try to get a hold of someone at Bag and Bows and either cancel the bill or send UPS to come pick up the box.

Still waiting……

I’m about to call uncle and just pay the $85 if no one gets back to me by end of August.

Is it possible for you to send it back and pay for signature receipts for proof of delivery back to the company? That sounds like a lot of money ($85) to pay for an error that is not your fault.

I admire your perseverance. I would have given up and paid long ago.

You should call your credit card company and they will take care of it. That is why I pay everything with a credit card and pay it off every month.
