So many times our cats leave just that one tiny piece in the food bowl. What is that all about?

I always enjoy your cat stories.

What a cute dish!

That's adorable! My dog does that, too, but there are usually a few left. Never just the one. I guess saving the snack for later?

Both my cats leave a few bites in their bowls - they're fed twice a day. Each will eat out of the other's bowl from what's been left. It all started with the timid one leaving food for the bossy one. Now they both leave some food for later.
Cats!

My kitty does this when I give her dry treats. There are usually one or two left but she does circle around and eat them later

Maybe that last piece was hidden under her chin. ? Mine will do that with dry food, never with canned.
