I am typing on my new Mac computer. It's a 2010 model but it is awesome as I have been limited to just using an iPhone for awhile. DH and I each got early Christmas presents, he got a Samsung Chromebook.
Other than that I am resting from having an ear ache. Just taking it easy.
Put up the Christmas tree yesterday. I know it is early but my grandson wanted to get the ornaments out. The cat thinks we put it up just for her. She climbs up the trunk of it and just sits there. She loves it.
Napping a lot. It's cold and rainy. I did get up and change the sheets and got out a fresh blanket. And I guess I'll go take a long hot shower to go along with my nice-smelling bedding. And then take another nap.
We are experiencing a very heavy fog right now. Thought it was to lift by noon, but no. We have a neighbor about 2 acres away - can't even see their house. Gray, dreary, and almost raining, but not quite.
DH and I made a trip to the local landfill to get rid of the last of the fall yard work from Saturday's beautiful fall day. Our landfill is on winter hours now and closed on weekends. Woo-hoo! Quite a date!
Ordered a bunch of supplies for my basket weaving activities. I've never ordered from this company before, but reviews were good, and shipping over $100 is free. I loved my last supplier, but their shipping costs were killing me.
Headed to the grocery store in a bit.
Need to pack for three days at the cabin. Isabelle, the French Brittany shown in my avatar, is going to The Big City for ACL surgery. The cabin is closer than our house, eliminating motel and restaurant expenses.
Hey beach glass we went to the landfill today too...we just call it the dump! Shopped for our European grandchildren and mailed pkg. Almost as much to mail as cost of gifts! We bought champagne for thanksgiving...the good stuff. Made a nice lunch for DH and myself. Now having tea and reading. Raining and cold here too.
I’m desperately trying to NOT overeat. The scale has caught up with my indulgence, so I must pull myself together and regain control.
This morning I walked 4.9 miles. I just watched Episode 1 of the new season of The Crown (not impressed). In a few minutes I’m off to work with my trainer.
a little 5 month old. My DD babysat the little boy next door from the time he came home as a new born. Now he has his own child and I babysit her several times a month, when her mom is called into the hospital to cover an extra shift.
She is adorable by the way, even if she is a little crybaby sometimes.
I’ve done lots of little things today, too: 3 mile walking video, breakfast, shower, trip to Meijer (like Target), worked on DSIL’s quilt, had lunch, washed 3 loads of laundry, napped and now watching Ellen while checking PT. In a minute I’ll check DGS’s day care app to see what he’s been up to today. Like I said, lots of little things. Love ❤️ retirement.
I went to the gym this morning and did grocery shopping this afternoon. I made shrimp tacos for an early dinner and am now watching a great true crime series, The Innocent Man, on Netflix.
Mondays are usually my “ME” day. I have missed the last two Mondays due to doing stuff with my mom. Today, I went to Savers, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnns. I stopped at Einstein Bagels for a treat. I need to keep my Mondays free because I love and need a day to myself.
Yoga this morning. Major cleaning the rest of the day... we have company coming next week.
I volunteer on Monday afternoons, so an hour of math and reading with a student at church.
Then to JC Penny to pick up some socks I ordered online and a quick stop at the grocery store.
Whew!
I went to the gym this morning and had lunch with my mom. Later, I met DH at the doctor’s office. He is having some minor surgery on Friday. I picked up dry cleaning on the way home and reheated chili for our dinner.
Btw, when we take out the boat and do not catch anything, we usually say we went for a boat ride.
I continued my big purge/tidy up of my bedroom. Took several bags to Salvation Army for donation, took 2 full garbage bags to textile recycling, returned a number of items to different stores. Phew! It’s looking much better!
Went to the pool this morning and then to work at the museum all day. It’s a cold day, and the heat was off in our 6 story granite historic building. Shivered till about noon when the problem was found and the heat was fixed. Twiddled my thumbs all day...no guests. It started to rain and the temperature was dropping close to freezing so I went home a half hour early.
Walked and went to my aquafit class. Ran a few errands and came home to curl up with a book and almost fell asleep.
Hope the surgery went well and your DH isn't too uncomfortable. I hear the first two weeks are the toughest.
I volunteered for Conservation Day today. About twenty of us stuffed nearly 1000 goodie bags for the students to take home. Tomorrow I'll assist serving the kids lunch. My old district always attends this event, but all of the county schools except one are closed Tues. The teacher's are having a Red for Ed rally in Indianapolis.
I hope the legislature will do away with.some of the stupid required standardized tests.
I have the flu so took a nap in the sun, binge-watched The Crown, texted with some friends about ongoing district drama (so glad not there) and ate ice cream. And DD went to Hobby Lobby and brought me some cute fall decorations at 80% off.
And here's something I didn't do....write sub plans!
My friend and I are on our last few days of a road trip. We drove from NJ through 9 states. We saw so many things and explored the whole Natchez Trace. Going home tomorrow, but aside from some freezing weather throughout the adventure, it was a great trip!
