Clip to ScrapBook #1

Tomorrow we start a 2 for most and 3 for me training. It is all about DuFour and PLCs! ugh! The thought of PLCs makes me nauseated to say the least. I don't actually mind them but we have some real slackers in our Department...and I am tired of babysitting them! I am the PLC leader so that is why I have an extra day...hopefully I will be able to come up with some ways to motivated those that just don't do anything!

Are you familiar with Critical Friends groups?
I really like them as a way to help structure PLCs to be respectful and participatory.

PLCs work well when everyone is vested in the learning.

I have found is PLCs that are very much admin directed are a lot less successful.
However most teacher release funds have to be justified by some sort of school board directed learning goal or school improvement goal.

ps FLTCHR08 PLC stands for Professional Learning Communities
