Fat people and cold weather

Donít go together.

Iím in NY by NJ for my cousins wedding. Florida fat people donít have think sweaters. We donít have winter coats or boots to wear with jeans.
So I bought a coat luckily it fit. Bought a pair of boots but didnít have time to try them on bought a sweater to match said boots. Sweater too short to cover my belly and the boots barely zipped up over my calves and the jeans. I looked like an idiot.
Today is the wedding. I also forgot pantyhose as we donít wear those in Florida. Walmart only has coffee color black or white in my size. No nude.

Sigh

I have coats! I have 4 gorgeous coats (okay, I think theyíre gorgeous) that I no longer wear since moving to a more temperate climate. I canít bring myself to donate them (nobody here needs a coat, right?), so they take up space in my closet. I wish I knew what to do with them. I wish I could help you.

Sorry you’re so miserable! I’m sure you look great!

However, I live in Florida and have both coats and boots. I have sweaters and long sleeved shirts as well. Not just for Florida but also for visiting other climates.

and I am sorry. Sending you hugs. Just remember that the clothes don't make the person, they can only enhance. So just smile and be you. Your inner self will out shine your attire. This too shall pass. Then you can go home to your comfortable temperatures and clothing.

If it makes you feel any better, that is what I feel like when I go to Florida!

I prefer "mom shorts" and tshirts and tennis shoes. Then I go to a warm climate and I see yoga pants with tank tops, tank tops with shorts, short shorts, and flip flops everywhere. Everyone looks happy and I feel like I look like a pale white, Frosty the snowman!

You'll do fine. Just enjoy the wedding and don't overthink it. I have found that a pretty scarf hides a lot of perceived imperfections.

amiga, I agree with sonoma. Even though we live in a mild climate, it does get cold (for us) at night. Last night it got down to the mid-50s, and a homeless woman could surely use a warm coat. It will get colder in the winter, and in the past we have had night temperatures that dropped to almost freezing.

Would a shawl work?
I'm surprised you can't find tights in the stores, even if pantyhose isn't really a thing, tons of women wear opaque tights in cold weather!

We are in the Deep South on vacation. Luckily, we brought winter clothing. In 2 weeks, today was the first day I did not need a winter coat. We were fortunate that we had them.Hope it works out for you.

I ended up not wearing pantyhose. They didnít fit. The dress for the wedding wasnít a problem thank goodness. I felt ok with that choice. It was just the new sweater and boots I thought would be great and turned out icckk

Donít get me wrong I have boots in Florida but my boots I wear with skirts and no way I could do that up here so I bought some boots that I thought I could wear with jeans but nope lol

I will admit my anxiety was bad when I wrote this. Anyway said sweater and boots are going to thrift store and Iím going home to jeans and flip flops 😁😁

Sound wonderful to me! There truly is no place like home. That does include the clothes we wear with comfort at home as well. Safe travels.

If you had been home today in FL you would have needed a coat, so good idea to get one while you're there! The high here was around 50, humidity was in the 90s, overcast and really windy - COLD!

I hope everything worked out for you!
