I posted a few days ago about a situation with a student and the special ed. teacher's flippant attitude about getting this girl the help she needs. Bottom line is, we (parents, sp. ed. teacher, sp. ed. director and prince) met and got the referral process started. YES!!!!!!

On a side note, this teacher who is driving us all crazy is about to get into some VERY hot water regarding her attitude and aptitude in the classroom. Since she is a non-tenured teacher, I hope she's sent packing. Our students, teachers and parents would be much better off with out her sorry a$$ around. I'm sure there are many teachers out there who would LOVE to have her position and do a much better job at it.

I do feel strongly about this one. I'm a teacher who can get along with ANYONE and find the positives in almost any situation, but this person.............

Chronic,

I had a similiar situation at my school. The person in question was told they would not be returning this year. I am looking forward to seeing how this will change our staff dynmaics and of course the quality of student education.

Hang in there. You might get lucky.

Could you tell us how you really feel? Really, don't hold back !!! On a serious note, while I never like to hear that a building would be better without a teacher around, there are some that are just there for the paycheck and not the students. I hope you find a wonderful replacement for her and I'm so happy to hear the student in need is getting what she will need to be successful.
