It will be called..."Remedial Paper Folding" Why, oh why can't 11 and 12 year old kids fold paper correctly? Ok, vent over!

Writing name and date on the paper after 7 years of school, turning homework in without being hounded, writing assignments down in an agenda, and sharpening a pencil.

How about a class for second graders called "How to Find a Page Number in a Book"? I have several who cannot look at the page numbers and figure out whether they need to go forward or backwards in the book. It drives me INSANE!!!

How about "stapling in the top left corner" and "starting to write on the left side (with the holes)"?

I have a class of 5th graders who can't fold papers AND can't sit in their chairs properly.

What's funny is we beat ourselves up over the same things in kindergarten.

6th graders who cannot fold a paper in half or quarters but could do the most intricate folding to make those crazy spinner things! One year I confiscated almost 100 of them - if only they applied themselves to their academics with the same dilligence.
