I've seen posts from other people on here about how they "can't move" because their cat was lying on them. Well I always "got it" to a certain extent, but having never owned a cat I never fully understood.
I've been fostering some kittens for a local animal shelter. Today one of them fell asleep cuddling with me (and was purring to boot). Man oh man, did I not want to move! I think we stayed there for over an hour.

Awwww, how sweet! That sounds so adorable! We have a pit and when she is sleeping snuggled up to DH on the couch he won't get up and disturb her either !
How sweet! My childhood cat, who is very old but still alive is not a huge cuddler, so any time he sits on your lap you definitely don't move. Growing up, "the cat's on my lap" was an acceptable excuse to not get up/do anything.
My current kitty is a huge cuddle bug so unfortunately sometimes I do have to set him down, especially in the mornings when I need to get up for work!
I am a newer cat owner and thought that was just a quirk I had. I won’t move if the cat is on me unless there is an emergency- necessary visit to the restroom, doorbell rings, etc. 😀

I think black cats are beautiful, kittens are adorable. I have heard that due to ancient superstitions shelters have the hardest time finding their forever homes.
Beware - they can cuddle their way into your heart. my daughter fostered a kitten, a special needs kitten because she only had one eye and came with infections requiring medication. I knew that kitten would win her heart, and she did.
I'm a foster fail!!! I fostered this cutie and could never imagine saying good by to him. He was 6 ish when I got him and now he's about 9ish.

I love the term "feline paralysis." And this little girl (she's more snuggly than her brother) is certainly trying to win my heart! I keep trying to remind myself that a) while I *could* technically adopt a cat right now, it's not the best timing for me and b) if I adopt a cat now, I wouldn't be able to foster any more (space reasons).
That excuse won't wash! There's always room, after all they're VERY SMALL.
BTW, let us know what you name her. It could be Lucky, since YOU are lucky to have HER. Can you tell I'm a little jealous. My six are no longer kittens and as much as I adore them, there's nothing like a kitten.

Don't tell me that! I don't need any more excuses. It really has been fun seeing them chase each other around, pounce, stalk each other (complete with little, furry butt wiggles), etc. They do get into EVERYthing though. Thankfully I have a really large dog crate that they can reside in when I'm not at home (or sleeping) with lots of cozy blankets, their litter box, food and water, toys, etc.
The shelter staff actually already named them. The girl is named Mazikeen and the boy is Amenadiel. I've never seen it, but the lady said they're names from the show Lucifer.
These guys go back on Wednesday, but they're so packed with young kittens still at the shelter that it's likely they'll have more for me to care for (I've already told them I'm willing). They even have some still on bottles, but I'm gone far too long during the day for those babies.
