This community was so impt to me. I am really struggling. Stuff is happening 1 2 3, and I am afraid it is going to take me down.
I would love encouraging words and prayer.

Dorothy

I'm thinking of you Dorothy and praying that you have the strength to deal with what's happening. Remember, one day at a time. Deal only with this moment, not with what might or might not happen. Things have a way of working themselves out for the best, even though we can't see that when we're in the midst of stuff. You are stronger than you think. Remember to tell yourself that everyday.

Hey Dorothy,

I still like reading the funnies. Nothing like a session with “Arlo and Janis” to perk me up! Try going to gocomics.com.

My favorites there are classic “Calvin and Hobbes” and “Peanuts,” the aforementioned “Arlo and Janis,” “Pearls Before Swine,” and “Pickles.”

My other go-to “funnies” site is comicskingdom.com.

My favorites there are “Sally Forth,” “Blondie,”” Shoe,” “Dustin,” “Baby Blues,” “Mallard Fillmore,” “The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee,” and “Zits.”

Each strip even has its own community of commenters, so you can comment on a particular strip and get in an exchange with other commenters. (I don’t comment on any strips, but I usually read a few when I have the time).

Hope you feel better soon!

P.S. -- If you want to find a particular comic quickly, just google “Today’s Arlo and Janis” or whatever funnie you’re looking for, and that strip will pop right up.

The Spirit-Filled Life [Updated, Annotated]:
Old 10-26-2021, 07:46 AM
  #15

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08428W197

Maybe this will provide some peace.

Description
I wish to urge all Christians, especially ministers of the gospel, to give The Spirit-Filled Life a prayerful reading. I feel confident it will bring them help and blessing. It will deepen the conviction of the great need and absolute duty of being filled with the Spirit. It will point out the hindrances and open up the way. It will stir up faith and hope. And I trust it will bring many people to feel that it is at the footstool of the throne – in the absolute surrender of a new consecration – that the blessing is to be received from God himself.

May this book stir up all its readers, not only to seek this blessing for themselves, but also to pray earnestly that God may give the Holy Spirit in power throughout His whole church. It is when the tide comes in that every pool is filled and all the separate little pools are lost in the great ocean. As all believers who know or seek this blessing begin to pray as intensely for each other and all their brethren as for themselves, this is when the power of the Spirit will be fully known. With the prayer that this Spirit-filled book may be greatly blessed of God, I commend it to the study of His children.

You are in my prayers, Dorothy. Many of us are still here and can be a support for you. To hedge my bets I also joined Reddit, and while I don't like to use Face Book I look at the posts there, too. If something happens here, you can jump to one of the other platforms and get support there. Meanwhile, reach out to this community any time you need to.

I bookmarked this tweet the other day, I feel like it applies to all of us but maybe especially you right now. Kate Bowler is a young Christian woman who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and wrote the book "No Cure for Being Human"

Kate Bowler:
You feel angry because this is unjust
You feel sad because this is awful
You feel tired because this is exhausting

Your emotions are not wrong or bad
or lying to you or giving you the full truth.
They're giving you a bit of data
that you shouldn't ignore

We love and lose and fall and get back up and fail and try again.
This is what it means to be human;
to feel the pain, the grief, the stress, the risk
the fear, the heartbreak.

So you beautiful creature,
here is your permission to feel it all,
to feel the joy and delight and excitement,
and the sorrow and fear and despair.

All the yellows and pinks and violets and grays, because you are the whole sky.

Keeping you and your family surrounded in prayer. These are troubling times, but Jesus said, "Let not your heart be troubled." The book of John, Chapters 14, 15, 16 & 17 can give a lot of comfort. ((Hugs)).

you are not alone. There is so much going on that there are no words for. I do not have the answers on how to get through, but know, you can reach out anytime. Feel free to PM if you need to "talk". Sometimes, that connection will help. Prayers and virtual hugs.

I'm not leaving until it's gone for good. I've learned too much on here and gotten a lot of support, and I was deeply saddened for awhile thinking it might go away for good.

But I also joined the facebook one. There are lots of positive posts in there from Proteacher people. I know FB is in the news and I strongly dislike what they've (Zuckerberg in particular) has done, but I feel like I've made FB my own by keeping it extremely limited to family members, and Proteacher people are like family to me. I also work hard on deleting the extra stuff that on there that comes along by using the three dots button found at the top left of posts. I also have joined some groups that are non-political and work hard to keep it that way. They are things that I am interested in, like nature photography and genealogy. Every once in a while, some jerk posts something inappropriate in one of the groups and the moderator deletes it and gives the person one warning. Then off they go permanently.

I'm committed to finding other ways I can fight FB's algorhythm formula and will never ever click on any ad I see on their page. I just joined the ProTeacher Lives On group and so far haven't seen anything but love, respect, and charming comments. I haven't learned all the new names on there yet, but I'm working on it, so I don't know if you gave it a try yet. I don't have a problem using my real name since I'm no longer working.
