Hawaiian Day

Tomorrow is Hawaiian Day at my sonís (5-Kindergarten) school. I was going to let him wear a Lei, but being in teacher mode, thinking it may be a bad idea. Maybe it will be too distracting for him and other students? I have visions of him playing with it. Let him wear it before school (we get there 20 minutes early and the kids/parents wait on the grass) and then take it home when I leave? Or forget the entire thing?

Let him wear it. His teacher can decide if itís distracting or not.

I agree with let him wear it (why have Hawaiian Day if you donít want the kids to wear leis? )
However, prepare him for the possibility that the teacher may ask him to take it off if he gets distracted by it.

Let him wear it. They expect distracting attire on days like that.

I too vote to let him wear it. There will probably be many students wearing leis.

I would bet he won't be the only one wearing one. Let him wear it.

OH, you brought back a funny memory! We had a Hawaiian Day back when I taught elementary ages ago. One teacher wore a coconut bra over a white turtleneck. So hilarious, but quite inappropriate!
