Why this board?

After a year of PT obsession, I just discovered this board. I like it a lot, but the last thing I needed was another board to spend hours on. But, my question is, why do you post on here rather than on a grade level site, and visa versa? Just curious.

I think it tends to get more views since its "busy".

Well, I can only answer for myself, but I post on the 3rd Grade board and the K-3 board if I have something to ask that is relevant to my grade level.

The Busy Board seems to be a place that people from ANY grade level will visit.

Sometimes the question is teaching-related and not grade-level specific.

I think of this board as the teacher's lounge for school related posts.

I post here to get answers for general teaching related topics or to get feedback from a larger cross-section of members and also when I need a quick response. Many people have taught other grade levels, been teaching a lot longer than I have, or have personal experiences from team members, family members, perusing the web, etc that greatly enhance the quantity and insight of responses.

Glad you asked. I've wondered the same thing. Now I know the answer.

The BusyBoard is one of the original boards when ProTeacher first started ~~ notice the TM (trademark) symbol right after the name on the main page. As it became more popular, other boards were added for those folks that wanted to address topics that applied to a specific grade level.
