and I need some feedback about several things.

Do you like it?
How does this work for you with your curriculum?

I teach Saxon Math and Phonics and would like some ideas of how to make the curriculum work smoothly for first graders. We are lengthening our hours each day to make up for the day out. We will start at 8:20 and dismiss at 4:00. Out on Mondays. I think I'm going to like this (at least trying to start out with a positive out-look)but I'm a little nervous about preparing my students for "THE" test in the Spring. If you teach Saxon you know how the curriculum works with 4 lessons and the assessment falls on the 5th day. I know that studies have shown it's not a good idea to test students the first day back after the weekend. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated!!

What a unique idea~ With the increased length of the school day, I would think you could teach all 4 lessons and still have time to give the assessment at the end of math on Friday. Just my 2 cents.

WOW! Am I jealous! My school district has kicked around this idea for years but always nixed it due to childcare issues.

I don't have any advice but good luck!
