Retirement time warp

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have been putting up Christmas decorations for days and days and days. I thought that retirement would give me more time to do these fun things. It turns out I have entered some kind of retirement time warp where things I do at home take FOREVER! What doesn't get put out today just won't see the light of day because I've decided to face the truth. I'm imprisoned in the retirement time warp. Guess I need to call "Warp Busters"!

I guess I am with you, but instead of taking days to finish, I've been putting it off for days. My tree is up, but bare. It looks sad, but here I am on my laptop, procrastinating again!

I've noticed since I've been retired I've been late more often for meetings, church, lunch with friends. What's up with that???

I've been late to places too! I almost forgot my first dentists appointment since retirement. That never happened while I was working. I guess I feel like I have so much time there is no need to hurry. Not a bad problem to have but I have to get a grip and watch the clock.

Oh I am so glad you posted.
This is my first year retired and I was certain that I would be able to relax and enjoy Christmas this year because I would have so much time. haha
I am relaxed and I am enjoying myself but am I ready for Christmas? Not one bit.
But I am relaxed.

Isn't that what's most important?

I've been doing some testing at my old school this week and last week, and people have been telling me how relaxed I look. That makes me smile even bigger, if that's possible.

While all my decorating is done, I totally get the "eh, I have time" feeling. I have always been an early person. If I was on time for an appt. I felt late. Now I cut it too close when getting places. I'm never late, but always misjudge when I need to get my butt out the door. I also end up thinking "So what if I am late, what's the worse thing that could happen?" Which I NEVER would have thought when working!!
