So there have been several threads about this book recently. I had said in one of them that I must have read it but I didn't remember the ending or anything about it.

Well, time to 'fess up. It looked so familiar to me because I reserved it from the library after it was recommended here on PT. It's been sitting in my "to be read" pile next to my bed for the past 3 weeks

I just finished it and I might as well weigh in. I don't have terribly strong feelings about it either way. It kept my attention and it was horrifying in many ways, but I didn't love it. The ending was abrupt and a bit confusing, but I didn't hate that. All in all, it was ok and I'm not sorry I read it.

There ya go

I read it recently and I was captivated. I liked it but honestly I read so much over this summer that half the time I don't remember how a book ended!I do know that I really liked it. It was crazy, that I do remember.

I just started Little Voices...I heard it was good so we'll see.

Iím glad you wrote this, DrGK, because I canít imagine reading it and not remembering.

Maybe I missed parts because I listened. Was the dad absolved of murder? I never understood that accusation. And I never understood how a tiny girl (wasnít she the size of a 3-year-old when found?) could stab an adult to death. And I didnít understand the motherís failure to act (before she got sick) and to protect the baby.

Iím glad you thought it was okay and mom23 loved it. However, Iím also glad I looked online to find many other people who thought there was no ending. IMO it wasnít a cliffhanger, it simply stopped midstream.

Sonoma, I apologize. I thought people who had finished the book were discussing it. I added your suggestion just now.

Amiga...lol.. my memory sucks to begin with. Sometimes I feel like I read and completely forget the last chapter and have to reread. In fact, my book club read the Silent Patient and I literally have to reread the second half of the book. (Maybe there's something wrong with me I read 17 books this summer (maybe they're all meshing together.. who knows!)

mom23, I wasnít being snarky or critical, I just meant that book creeped me out so much that I remembered it.

I forget most of what I read and listen to. I can never remember titles.
