Do you know how

to compress a PDF file? I'm applying for an emergency license and I have to upload my college transcript, but my state office won't accept files larger than 2 MB. The PDF is about twice that size. I've tried a couple of things (saving it in a Word file) but nothing is working. I'm on a Mac, using Safari. Any ideas???

I have to apply for the license by next week, so this is kind of stressing me out.

Can you take a screenshot and use that?

Have you scanned or photographed your transcript so that it is an image file? Do that. In Word, insert your image. Save As: File Type: PDF. It should end up being less than 2mb even if it is a few pages.

I use tiny png. And the panda's super cute at the end of the compression!

I right click on the file and choose "compress." It turns it into a zip and then I can send it. I use that a lot. I use a Mac (and safari).

Good luck!

Compress it into a zip file. There should be an option to do that if you right click.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was finally able to do it. Of course, as soon as I uploaded everything to the state site, their server crashed and I lost my application.
