I use a catchy tune Zipidee do dah for transitons (from center to center) in my room.
this is it:
zipidee do dah (I say this)
zipedee do day (students say)
My oh my, its time to rotate (we all say together)

I love it and kids to do. Works well in my classroom.

I bought an inexpensive stop watch and had "time trials" and kept practicing... they love to try and beat their best time.... good luck!!

In the past, I've played a song that the kids know when they hear it, it's time to clean up and get ready for the next activity. I'm a dork, so I got a kick out of having my clean-up song as "It's the Hard Knock Life" from 'Annie' In 3rd grade, I might teach them that when the song starts playing, they need to clean up and look at __ (the board, a poster) so they know how to be prepared for the next activity. Anyone who is not finished by the time the song ends changes their card. Generally speaking, most kids are cleaned up and ready to go well before the song is over.
