Best and Most Valuable Bulletin Boards

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi All,

After 5 years of the same bulletin boards in my classroom, I'm not only tired of them, but some don't serve much of a purpose anymore. I need some inspiration and ideas for bulletin boards. What bulletin boards do you have in your classroom that you CANNOT live without, are valuable, eye catching, and worthwhile? It can be related to second grade skills (math, writing, reading, spelling, etc.) or behavior. I appreciate any and all feedback. TIA!

jennifer

I have my Daily 5 board, CAFE board, Star of the Week board, and my calendar board. I also have my specials schedule for students to refer to with days/digital/analog times.

All my in-room boards are fairly small, and then I have 2 giant ones out in the hallway as well as 2 sets of tack strips to display student work for visitors to enjoy.

I use a smaller board for my behavior incentive chart. I use a bingo chart that I got from Really Good Stuff last year. The long chart is the focal point of the board, and then around it I put class records that we have achieved... 10 bingo squares in one day, fastest clean up time record, record number of class compliments in one day, etc.... It is interactive and I don't find the need to change it since it evolves with us during the year.
