I have a folder for each student that will go home each day and I need help giving the folder a creative name.
I know on the inside pockets the left pocket will say "To be LEFT at home" and the right pocket will say "Send RIGHT back to school"... but I'm still drawing a blank on what to call the folder itself... I was looking for something more creative then "school-to-home folder", haha

My first grade colleague has the same left at home, bring right back pockets, and hers have little left and right hand prints on the labels... an ink stamp that she has.... anyway she calls hers handy folders. because they're so handy, obviously, and you should always have yours handy, and because of the handprints :P

Ours is a rocket, so we call ours the R.O.C.K.E.T. folder. It stands for Really Organized Children Keep Everything Together.

You may want to check this for a long list of acronyms for folders.

My inside pockets are labeled 'keep at home" and "Return to School"

we call it our Homework Folder.....not very creative. I know!

I am doing something a little different this year. I have desk not tables and no cubbbies.
I gave each student a green pocket folder that says "Take Home Papers" everything that we do throughout the day that needs to go home that day, goes in the green folder......classwork, crafts, graphic organizers for reading, spelling, phonics, morning work & any other worksheets that I'm not grading.

at the end of the day while I am marking behavior charts the students transfer the contents of the Take home folder to their Homework folder. It is moving much quicker for them too. i don't have to say 10 times which papers go home & which papers stay at school.

It is SOOOO much easier instead of having the kids look for the papers/sheets that need to go home AND it really has cut down on messy desk. well so far.

Class Folder

For the past two years I have used the website: busyteachercafe
Go to printables, class management forms. There is a list of about 10 different printable folder cover sheets where you can add your info and each child's name. I print it on several different colors of paper so I can find each student's folder quickly.
