My phone died today - it's old. I want to get another iPhone but there are so many out there. Any pros/cons for any that you've heard of? I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it.

I trusted my son-in-law to advise me. I got an iPhone X and couldnít love it more. He and DD got the X Max and are also thrilled.

To let you know Iím not a phone trendie, this X replaced my iPhone 5s.

Mine is a 5c, so I understand.

I was looking at the X, but there are several models of it. Do you have the r? Is it just a difference in size?

No, I have the iPhone X. If you look at this page you will see it (I think you might have to click on see all models). For me, it’s the first one in the second row. No extra letters—plain, like me.

I'd get this again like I got this last time...order a no-contract phone through QVC. My current Samsung I got in this way and I've been satisfied overall. It comes with a LOT of minutes up front:

I recently got the 8plus and love it!

I couldnít make sense of all the X models (XR etc.) I recently had a baby and didnít have the time or energy to research those. I got the 8plus because my H had one and it was familiar.

My birthday present was a new phone, and I upgraded to the iPhone Xs Max. I love the size since I often read on my phone when I'm stuck waiting somewhere. It's super fast, and the camera with depth control is great.

If you get an iPhone, I recommend buying it at the Apple Store and getting an unlocked phone. That way you can decide which cellular company best suits you, and change if you aren't happy with their service. You control your phone instead of being controlled by your cell service provider.

I took my new iPhone (I bought a 7 last April, and I love it!) to Target to get a $10 removable chip installed for the service provider (Consumer Cellular) I chose. It was easy and both phone and service have worked very well.

I got the XS Max. I love it! Oh my, it is huge! The camera quality is amazing and it has very good battery life. Well worth the $1100 price tag

Holy quacamole! No way would I spend that on a phone. Wow. I can't imagine so many people doing so.

I am looking at getting a new tracfone and they have an iPhone now. I think it is the 6. I still can't commit to the price they are asking and it is nowhere near $1000. I probably will at some point when I stop paying holiday bills off. (most of which are for a birthday celebration in Mar for my dad - not Christmas, in addition to a car repair ongoing problem).

Holy bananas. I did -not- pay $1100 for my phone. Phones shouldn't cost as much as a mortgage payment.

iPhone 8 Plus

When I purchased my iPhone 8 Plus the only X phone was just the X (the original version).

The X uses face recognition to unlock it (or a passcode) and the 8 plus uses touch identification. I wanted touch identification.

I purchased the plus because it has a larger screen than the 8 and I'm very happy with it.
