UPDATE: DH's stroke
Old 10-26-2019, 08:02 AM

Clip to ScrapBook #1

It has been a week since his stroke. His speech is pretty good. I've noticed he has a trouble with nouns. Not too bad, though. He tires out pretty quickly. He follows up w/primary doc in a few days.

I am just so thankful he is still with us. Thank you for all the good thoughts, prayers, and support. It meant so much to read your posts.

When my Mom had her stroke, the doctor told us that we could expect improvement over the course of the year. So, he is only at the beginning of that. Hope to hear continued positive reports as time passes.

Great news! I hope you are taking care of yourself too. It is so easy to lose focus on yourself. Make sure you have plenty of sleep and healthy snacks.

I am glad that you see progress already. The brain is a marvelous organ! when one part is hurt, another part can take over the function. It may take some time, and training through PT or speech therapy, but he will continue to improve. Be patient. Rest a lot. Take each day as it comes.

Everyday will be a little better then the day before.

I noticed that my dh asks questions to verify what I said. If I tell him that we are having pancakes for breakfast he will say, Were having pancakes? He does this all of the time! Drives me nuts!
