Youth Home Activity Help

I am a retired teacher and full-time RVer. I am currently volunteering at a Youth Home for kids ages 8-18, boys and girls but mostly boys. There is no school, and the kids are basically confined to their cottages because of the virus. I volunteered to come in and just do have a few simple activities (such as coloring or games) to do with them if the kids are interested. We are all restricted to the home so I can't go get any supplies. I am thinking mostly the girls and the younger kids will want to do something. I have uno, uno flip, skippo, chess, checkers, phase 10, sorry, The Game, and then I have about individual challenges like a rubiks snake, and tangrams. I have all kinds of markers, colored pencils, and twist colored pencils, and a complex coloring sheets book called "Colors of the Wild." I also have post-it notes I thought we could have a contest to build the biggest tower with. I am also going to bring plain white paper for drawing. Anyone have any other suggestions or better suggestions of what I can do with limited materials. Thanks so much!!

Just be sure to clean shared materials.

Sing in rounds

Dance to fun music

Go for a short cycle ride.

Try some body coordination activities like rubbing your tummy while patting your head.

Have some fun races.

Play red light green light.

Obstacle course?

Treasure hunt?

Ask them some riddles and give time to think of answers and then share.

memory game- give them each a bag for collecting. Then tell them or show them what to look for outside. A small pebble, stick, leaf, acorn, pine cone or pine needles, blade of grass, bird's feather, seed,..... Then when they are done check to see who remembered all 10 items.

Paint a rock

Do nature rubbings with crayons

Teach them to draw a cartoon character- Check Youtube for help.

Read them a story.

Good luck!
