Clip to ScrapBook #1

I purchased these for Mother's Day for each of my students for fifty cents apiece!:

Does anyone have awesome ideas on how to decorate them?

How big are they? Would a handprint fit on top? If not, maybe little finger print people?

Thumb/fingerprints around the edge

in colors, Love, name in the middle, date on the bottom.

Hand print in the middle, and something they want to say around the edge (I love you, Mom, from name.

Create a short poem and write it on the top.

Glue on beads, or glass bits, or whatever.

Draw other hearts in varying sizes to put on the box with Mom in one, name in one, love you in one.

Sorry for the repetition. I was typing as Kahluablast was answering.

You can have students mod podge tissue paper squares, maybe do pinks and purples, onto the container. You can make your own mod podge by mixing equal parts of Elmer's glue and water together. The children use paintbrushes to paint it on the container. (Work on a section at a time. Press the tissue paper onto the mod podge. Then paint over it again. Allow to dry overnight.

We did that on small plastic water bottles to make vases. They came out cute.

I would like to do fingerprint art, but I probably would have them paint it in a color of choice and let them decorate it with jewels, sand, glitter, etc of their choosing. I still have a square box decorated the way I described from my DD, who is now 27!

Thank you for all the great ideas! I wish their handprints would fit, but the boxes are too small for that. I will definitely incorporate fingerprints, though!
Thanks again
