Has your sub tech reminded you of mandated reporter requirement

Beginning last year, all school employees must take a 20 question multiple choice quiz on a being a mandated reporter for child abuse.

I have taken the quiz twice already.

Two of my three districts sent out the reminder and link in May, but this was too early since it is good for exactly one year. I therefore took it again and turned it in last week to the two districts that sent out reminders.

I also sent in my certificate in May to the district that sent no notification. They are the ones that rejected my certificate claiming it was too early.

School begins three weeks from today, but this 3rd, and largest district has still said nothing about this.

Don't forget to take this quiz! it is required even if the districts forget to tell you about it.

Must depend on the state or district, I've never heard anything about this. All we had to fill out (other than updated tax paperwork), was a sheet saying we watched the video on bullying the district has on its website.

That is weird that they wouldn't take it early---it isn't like you'd be working over the summer, so as long as you did it after the last day of school it shouldn't matter.

This might only be a California requirement.

The reason they didn;t take it early is because it expires one year from the date you take it.

I first took it on May 15, so it would expire before the end of the year.

I got my email. I've got to sit thru a video presentation for 45 minutes before answering the questions. This is the 3rd year since they started it in CA. And for my other district I have to sit thru a different video for the same purpose.

Our District has what is called a Safe-Schools training module
I also took what is called an Issues of Abuse Course sponsored by the State a few years ago
