Clip to ScrapBook #1

Well yesterday I met a very recent retired sub who said that she feels bad for alot of us subs with license and thinks its unfair we don't get the job. She said as much as she would like to help me everyone that's now teaching is either a niece, cousin, son , daughter of someone whose retired. She said that her niece was gonna take over her class and this is how the system works. She said its a shame that this is the way it is but there's nothing we can do... And she hopes i move on..

It is so hard to find a full time job if you are a sub with a teaching certificate or someone just out of college. I have seen in the area that I have been subbing that it all comes down to who you know. The principals hire friends, students they taught before, or favors they from other principals. They ignore the substitute teachers who are teachers that are right in front of them that know their schools, their programs, and their teachers. It becomes very frustrating.

Politics have always been present in education but now that jobs are scarce it's so much easier for all to see.
