So nervous...

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I was observed about a week and half/two weeks ago and my principal has been so busy, she hasn't gotten around to typing up my report yet. I get so nervous every time I get an e-mail. I'm so scared to read it. I think the lesson went pretty well, but who knows what she thought! I'm hoping it's a good sign that she hasn't said anything to me about it, hopefully that means she has no concerns. It's just nerve wracking waiting for that report. My stomach is so tight!

I'm in the exact same boat! I have been checking my email religiously, waiting to see the notification coming through. I understand the anxiety! Fingers crossed- I am taking the same position as you and thinking that it's a good sign.

Observations

Early last spring our P informed us that we would have unannounced observations.

He put out the "checklist" of what he was going to look for, how he would make the observations, how he would structure the discussion after and how we could request another observation if we were not in agreement with what he said. He said that he would begin in one week.

I waited and waited; I was a nervous wreck by the end of third week, "waiting for the shoe to drop..."

Early spring went into early summer. Early summer went into third week of June. He never came.

He has announced observations again. I refuse to let myself get so worked up this time.

(Well, I will TRY not to get so worked up!)

I would say...

that if he had concerns, he would have voiced them by now. Sounds like all is well. That being said, in our district, if the post observation conference isn't completed within 5 days of the observation, it has to be repeated all over again.

Post observation

Ours aren't even required to do post observations, which I think is silly. I think it's silly to make us wait this long, too. I understand she's busy, but if I waited this long to give feedback to a student, you know my butt would be in the dog house. I truly hope that if she had any concerns, she would have told me by now.

Last year I spoke to my principal about two weeks after an observation but didn't receive anything in writing for over three months.

Ask about it...

Our p has to upload the document to a program and sometimes he forgets, or messes up. I just ask and he double checks. I can't stand the wait.
