Our fourth grade was chosen to give the Parc test this year. For those doing it are they allowing other teachers to go in a watch? We are getting coverage to go in and watch the testing....

t might be because this isn't counting this year...we are giving the NJ Ask for our scores the Parc is just to preview it for next year so only 2 of our 4th grades are giving it...

My school was also chosen to pilot PARCC. If your classroom wasn't chosen you do not observe, however protocol is very similar to our current state test, MCAS. Lucky Massachusetts kids that are chosen get to take 4 days of MCAS (2 ELA, 2 math- unless you are in fifth grade- then add on 2 science also), one "performance based" PARCC for each subject, and one end of year PARCC for each. Of course, that is in top of MAP testing, benchmarking in ELA and math, district required "practice MCAS" that are scored and reported, and classroom assessment. Poor babies.

I know it is crazy....I remember the MCAS from my MA teaching days...never taught in a grade that gave them. I am even worried about my SGO because these snow days are getting us further behind and our sgo assessments due dates will not be moved! YAY!
