Marzano: Anticipation Guide

Hello,
I'm a new member of this community. I've been teaching only 2 years; this being my 2nd.

I have my 2nd observation this week. My question is, for "previewing new content" in the marzano model- do you need to review with the class the answers to your anticipation guide?

I'm having them take an anticipation guide as a "how I know what they already know"- a quiz before we start the lesson. I feel going over it will take up too much time....

however I don't want to be criticized for 'not going over it'....

Any advice?

Megan

I would say if it was just a "see what you know" type quiz that you don't need to bother. If it is almost acting as a pretest and you will eventually give them the post-test, then your lessons in between will technically go over the content.

Good luck on your observation
