Update on Embarrassed, Angry and hurt

I threw in the towel!
I could barely talk to my grade level partner or the other teacher that spoke to the P. My P was being so cold to me, (I am certain the two teachers said that I wasn't communicating with them).

So,
I decided that I was going to show them all. I went to work with a cheerful attitude and was super productive. My room was completely ready to go for the first day of school while my partner was almost in tears because she was struggling and had to work over the weekend to finish. My P has done an about-face and is being very friendly to me.

Interestingly enough, I shared the incident with another teacher at the school. She said, "I knew there was something strange about her (referring to my partner). The teacher said, "I try to be very careful around her because I don't trust her."
Whew! It isn't just me. I am never going to trust any of the people involved in what happened but I am going to make darn sure that I make a fool out of my partner. I want the admin to see that I am just fine!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You truly were a wonderful support when I needed you.

Keep on smiling, it will drive them batty! I agree, I would not trust any of them.

It is sad we can't trust our coworkers.
That is great your P has done an about face though.
I am wondering if he hasn't already figured her out.
Didn't she start some crap the end of last yr about you forgetting stuff?
Keep up the cheer! It will drive the nasty ones crazy and you'll be having fun!!

I am so glad to hear that it is going well. It is terrible that you canít trust your partner teacher. After what you described, continue to be cautious. A toast to a good year for you!

I am so glad that you were able to rise above the tension and get your own work done. What goes around, comes around. I'm sure if your teammate was a nicer person, you would have helped her, but it was great that she had to sink or swim on her own.

Your principal sounds like someone who I would watch my back with. I'm glad that the other teacher you spoke to corroborated your feelings. It is difficult to work with someone you don't trust, but you got this! Best wishes for a wonderful year with YOUR class. Your positive attitude makes us proud.

First, it is never just you. I found that out the hard way too!

Keep on smiling and it doesn't hurt if every once in a while you bring in some baked goodies. Let everyone know how lucky you feel to be at your school. That should really fry her biscuit!

A big bowl of Hershey's hugs and kisses would work too.

I can give you a couple of real crowd pleasing cookie recipes.

Good for you! Hope you have a wonderful year! We received an email from our union last week and it made me think of your situation. It was about our code of ethics, and one of the items in the code is about talking about your coworkers in a negative way. I'm not sure if this is a statewide code or just my district, but you might see if your district has such a thing.

Cookies

To get you started google:

1. 4 ingredients Almond Joy Cookies! From Mom on Timeout

So easy, so good!

2. Vacuum Cleaner cookies. They're called that because once people try them, they suck them up!

True story, when I brought in the vacuum cleaner cookies one staff member who usually didn't have the time of day for me, or many others for that matter, actually spoke to me!

I guess your partner was "forgetful" in using her time wisely as far as getting her room ready for the first day of school.

Hope you have wonderful year!

I love this-thanks so much for posting your win, your awesome attitude and your success in the face of adversity.

You know how sometimes you feel like you really need a good real life story of how good people can triumph? Well I needed to hear it today!

The only thing we do is plan together. She likes to come in my room a lot and talk.

If I had a teaching "partner" who stabbed me in the back, the door to my classroom would be firmly closed and locked to her anytime I was in there alone. If I were asked about my locked door, I'd very politely explain I get more done when I don't waste time socializing.

job on how you decided to handle the situation with your teaching partner.

It sounds like your P has caught on to the kind of person she is.

The teacher that you spoke to about the incident helps in validating the fact that she is not worthy of your trust.

My wish for you is to have the best year possible.
