Kitten pictures!

So we are completely in love!! Still not 100% sure on the sex (who would have thought it could be that hard to tell?!? ) but we are leaning towards boy. Hes adjusted pretty well and loves to look out the window, and cuddle up in the lap of whoever is closest So far hes still confined to one room until we see the vet, and until he gets a little bigger. He likes to hide and Im scared well lose him in the house.

Thanks for all the tips you guys shared earlier, they have definitely helped! Im sure Ill be asking more in the coming weeks.

No wonder you're in love! Who wouldn't be?

I took an older stray in many years ago and went straight to the vet. He said the cat was a female and pregnant. I brought her back after she deliver 6 kittens. He had to check several times until he was sure all 6 were males! So that lets you know it isn't that easy to tell with kittens. I kept the mama and one of her kittens and found homes for the other five. It was an amazing experience.

Adorable! Orange cats are special! We had a sweet orange cat back in the 80s named Sunny. He was a love.

Aw, it's so cute! A kitten showed up at my parents place. They were sure it was a girl... Nah a boy. To this day they still get mixed up and call it "she" or "girl". So you aren't alone, but time will tell.

He is absolutely adorable, and hopefully the vet will be able to confirm the gender!

Gingers are almost always boys. Ginger girls happen, but theyre uncommon.

Hes adorable. My ginger boy is 15 now and I miss the kitten days.

names for gingers
Old 09-15-2019, 03:04 AM

I currently don't have a ginger among my pack, but over the years I have had several. The first I named Tigger. When I lost him I found another at the Humane Society. I named her Tigger Tooh. (I thought I was being clever.) At that time I had a next door neighbor who had a dog named Pooh Bear. The kitten I kept from the litter of 6 I named Butterscotch.

This, of course was before The Lion King and Simba.

He's a cutie. There's really only one way to tell the gender of a kitten and that's to lift their tail and look at the distance from anus to genital opening. The distance is greater for males than for females. It's easy to tell when you're looking at a whole litter of kittens but you have to have looked at a lot of cat butts to be sure when it's just one kitten.

I had a ginger tabby named Butterscotch, too, although he ended up being called Tuts most of the time.
