thinking of a monster theme

I'm mulling over my theme for next year. I'm considering a monster theme, but am stumped as to what to make for a reading corner. Each year I make a corner that goes with the theme that the students can take turns reading inside. For example, when I did western-covered wagon, circus=tent, rockstar= amphlifier. Anyone have any ideas????

How about an area designed to look like "under the bed?"

I think an "under the bed" would be quite cute. You could decorate a table to look like a bed on top, but it would be a little hiding spot underneath. Also, I researched kids pillows online on Target and saw many cute new stuffed monsters you might want for your room . I don't know what grade you teach, but on www.edemberley.com he has some printable monster resources to go with his books. What a fun theme!

You could decorate a huge box, cut out a door and call it the Monster Clubhouse. The kids would also love to decorate the box with paint and pictures.

You could also use a large canopy and dangle vines and attach some cool stuffed monsters.

Have fun
