Does anyone have games for the following math topics:

Place Value
Rounding
Estimating

I want to do a math workshop this year where one of the stations is a math game. So I'm trying to building my collection of math games. Anything that is printable would be great. File folder games..anything! Not computer games though, because I don't have enough computers for a whole center of students! Thanks!!!

I just printed off some games from www.mathwire.com for place value and money.

There weren't tons, but enough that if you get more from other sources they should help.

I'm going to go back and check on rounding. We haven't started estimating yet.

Good luck.

I don't know what level your looking for but maybe you can find something here. You could use the cards and use game boards. You could use the cards for tic tac toe and a ton of other ways,

Kim Sutton has a ton of math games. I have a co-teacher who is very familiar with the games. She uses a lot of cards, dice and dominoes

You can use any kinds of cards or dice like zenlth3 mentioned. I just print numbers on card stock and cut the out so my students can play war. Simple and the kids love it.

Group activity for place value is to put a different number on a paper plate and the students have to hold a number and stand in front of the room and arrange themselves in the order of the number I call out. We usually have two teams and they race without talking.

Rounding teaching strategy ~ I like to use a helium balloon and let my students hold the balloon. You can hold a balloon (with a string) with four or less figures. This stands for "let it stay". The number stays the same. Five fingers the balloon rises and the number rises. Great hands on and the students really get rounding.

Here are all my dice games - they can be modified for pretty much any grade depending on the dice you have & what you want to do.

I viewed your task cards today for the first time. WHAT AN AWESOME JOB YOU HAVE DONE! Thanks for sharing all of your hard work! Words aren't even enough to express how thankful I am at finding these cards for math.
