Small Holiday Gift Ideas for Students

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I work as an instructional tutor and want to give my students bags of small items as goodies for the holidays. So far I have holiday pencils, holiday erasers, and a jingle bell necklace I made.

I thought I had enough kaleidoscopes like this http://www.orientaltrading.com/mini-...tt=kaledescope

I had bought them a couple years ago at the Dollar Tree, and unfortunately I called several Dollar Trees and none them still have them. I want to avoid candy, and I know I can give the bag as is but want to add something else. Any suggestions?

My only other thought was to make tiny snowflakes out of paper, but I think that's cheesy. The kids are 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.

I don't want to spend a lot either. Any suggestions?

TIA!

What about a note to each one telling them how special they are?

Notepads (dollar tree usually has cute ones 3 or 4 for $1. or gloves... dollar store has those too. I don't see 3-5 graders wanting kaleidoscopes.

I love the idea of a personalized note telling them how special they are. everyone needs to know that their talents are recognized and appreciated.

How about a Mad Libs book? It's fun and great practice of parts of speech.

Or, if you're doing school supplies, add a highlighter and correcting pen or mini notepad.

The note idea is the best one you've gotten so far.
Another idea is to go to McDonalds and buy a $10 coupon book. It has 10 $1 gift coupons in it, so you could give one or two to each child.
I don't know how is "a lot" for your spending, or how many kids you work with.

I like the note idea, but I don't want to personalize too much since I'm not the classroom teacher. (Hopefully, when I teach again, I can personalize). Ended up getting small mini clear rubber balls. Inside it is a picture of something holiday/winter related.

So, I've got a holiday pencil, holiday eraser, bell necklace I created, and the holiday ball.
