Dress Question
Old 03-11-2017, 05:36 PM
  #1

My brother is getting married in early June at Sarah Lawerance College in NY. This is a 2nd wedding for both of them. For his 1st wedding (hated the wife) I was 8 months pregnant so I wore a black sheath dress. I adore his soon to be wife. Help me start narrowing down my choices. I am 5 ft tall, have a chest and hips, size 14ish (I need to order the dresses since there is nothing here) Here are two that I am thinking of. (UGH I hate dress shopping)

I love them both. But with gun to head I would choose the on with the thicker straps. I'm big busted and would feel more secure.

Both are really pretty. However i agree with PP, the thicker straps would mean you could wear a more supportive bra.

I think the one with the wider straps would be better if you are busty. I think strapless bras are hard when you have a larger chest. Both are beautiful...

I would go with the wider strapped one -- for reasons already mentioned!

Im busty and can't imagine trying to make a strapless bra work and still be comfortable!

I have ginormous boobs and I would also go with the thicker strapped dress. I'd hate to have to deal with a strapless bra and all that nonsense. They're both lovely though.

I love number two. Purple is a classy color. The blue is good if you have great shoulders and can wear an underwire bra.

I agree with the others - the purple one is adorable and I'll bet you'll feel more comfy in it - especially with all the hugging or even dancing. The blue one is really cute, but raising arms up and down might be harder without worrying about things.

Enjoy the wedding!

Both are totally cute!

What site are they from? I have a wedding coming up, too!

I agree

In addition to the wider straps being better for a larger chest, I think that flap of material on the blue one might not be flattering with a bigger chest. I also have to fight that battle.

I love both of them, but the purple is better for bustier women.

Both are cute! I like the first one better, I guess I am in the minority, but I like how it shows off the shoulders maybe a little more. But I don't have a big chest so I could get away with it. For a big chest, maybe less worry with the thicker straps.

I am glad your brother is now marrying someone you like!!

Another vote for the purple one!

The shoulders are cute on the first one, but being a bigger chested woman, I would worry about the girls all day and be less self confident as I would in the purple one.

Thanks all. I ordered both of them to see how they fit. I'm leaning towards the 2nd one with the wider straps. I dont want to wear a strapless bra.....
