My passport is missing from my suitcase and I had a questionable house guest recently. Pray I'm wrong and I find the passport today.

I hope it turns up. Perhaps it's in the lining or something.

No wonder you're concerned. Hopefully, you're able to discover it's location soon. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Are you getting ready for a trip? I hope not--or if you are that you find that passport ASAP.

I have no idea what the procedure is for lost or stolen passports.

If your passport is stolen or lost, there's a couple of things you could do. Go to the state department website. If you're traveling in the next three weeks, time is of the essence.

Walk away from the search and do something else!

My DD couldn't find hers. Tore her house apart 3 times in 24 hours. I finally convinced her to go do something else. She did for a little bit. Came back and found it within a half hour!

My mom "lost" a small jewelry bag...thought the maid stole it at the hotel. Several weeks later my dad found it inside the dress shoes he had taken on that trip.

Could it be in a place like that? In a purse...inside a book?

I still haven't found the passport wallet which contains both my and my husband's passports. I cleaned around my husband's desk and without disturbing too much looked in the desk. I searched our suitcases at least three times hoping I overlooked a pocket . I cleaned the room that our suitcases are in. Nothing. I called my husband. He remembers our conversation that I said I would keep the passport wallet in my suitcase so that we wouldn't forget it on our next trip or lose it in the house. He said he saw it somewhere... When he comes home tomorrow he will look in a few places, including our suitcases. I'm praying we find it tomorrow.

We are not planning to travel any time soon. It's my son's turn to visit. I am concerned about our identity and financial matters. Even more, this is a sentimental thing. We had a wonderful trip to see our son in Tokyo, nothing like we've ever experienced, and kept some momentos in the wallet. Our IC (train) cards which we planned to charge and use on the next trip are in there along with our receipts for shopping and dining and such that I wanted to look back at, a tiny amount of cash that we didn't exchange when we left, and of course our passports. On top of that, my son sent us the wallet as my birthday gift when we announced we were making the trip to see him. All replaceable, well except our useless receipts, but I don't want them to be gone. I also don't want to think they may have been stolen putting us in an awkward position with a woman living with my father in law.

My husband came home and found the passport wallet in our bedroom, in an area that he typically puts his things. I don't know how it got there or why it wasn't in my suitcase. We took the time to look through the contents, and my husband studied the pages of his passport. On our way to bed, this passport wallet will go into my suitcase, though I'm starting to think we should put it in a fire safe.
