I never really got into it but my mom and dad were huge fans of the show. My mom passed away last year but my dad's excited about the movie so I'm taking him the week it comes out.

I'm excited about the movie, but I'll probably wait till I can rent it. I rarely bother with going to an actual theater anymore. (Just have to do my best not get spoilered!)

ETA: poohbear, how poignant and bittersweet! I'm sure your dad will really appreciate you accompanying him.

Does anyone know if you have to have seen all of the show first for it to make sense? Or is there a summary somewhere? I enjoyed the show at first, but didn't keep up with it. Some friends are going to the movie and I'm wondering if it would still be enjoyable for me.
