Anyone have a wish to do something for themselves but cannot?

I want to be in a forest right now hearing birds and smelling the pine trees .

I'd go somewhere warm. Sunshine. Maybe a beach with a good book and a comfy chair. No frost or rain or wind. Winter seems to have returned with a vengeance this week. It started early and is dragging on forever.

A combination of things, I think. I'd love to be on the deck of the summer place that I share with my family, enjoying the view with a good book, a nice sea breeze and the smell of pine trees.
Alternatively I would love to be able to buy myself some nice new furniture. I always imagined (as a younger person) that I'd be able to have a house with nice furniture. It's literally all hand-me-downs. I dream of nice furniture from Restoration Hardware and shopping sprees at Crate and Barrel.

I'd like to be in the mountains. Lots of trees and some lakes nearby with good but not strenuous hiking. But not cold. And no people except my family. Heck, I'll go by myself!

I would love to have all the aches and pains that I have be erased, and I had the energy I had when I was in my 20's.

I wish I was in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. I would like to be soaking in the 90 degree pool for an hour while gazing at the mountain view and then receive a 90 minute Swedish massage at the spa onsite.

I would love for it to be summer time so I can enjoy my time off with my family without stressing over work. I would also love to be on another vacation with my family right now.

I'd give anything to live near interesting walking trails. Ones that meander across a field, along a stream and then open up to an ocean. It would be nice if the location had warm mineral pools and close enough that I could visit with all six grandchildren once a week. Dream on!

I would buy myself a new, fancier embroidery machine. The one I have now completely meets my needs, but who doesnt love an upgrade? (I am guessing this new machine costs between $8-10 thousand). Now you know why I wont be getting it

Honestly I would retire from teaching and move somewhere close to water and mild weather so I can spend lots of time outside.

I would have a standing order for flowers to be delivered to me several times a week.

I wish I could eat a giant baked potato loaded with butter, crisp bacon, grilled onions, and cheddar cheese followed by a brownie-on-the-bottom hot fudge sundae (thick fudge sauce please).

(I love autocorrect: I almost wished for a hot grudge sundae)

Your wish seems quite doable although it would have my blood sugar on overload plus.

I would fix the leak in my basement. I think I know the problem, I am just not sure I have the muscle to fix it. I may attempt it when the weather cools off a little more! DH is obviously not ever going to do anything about it...

The big one would be to retire! .

Spend as much time as I want traveling.

See my kids more.

Your auto correct just made the best dessert ever! I bring in baked treats when I volunteer at school. Next time the administration does something absolutely crazy, that adds no value to what they teach but adds lots of additional time I will bring in my "soon to be famous" Hot Grudge Sundaes! Homemade brownies, ice cream and chocolate sauce!

An entire staff will be thanking you!

I wish for....

... a big slice of key lime pie (or 2 ) with a cup of hot coffee to wash it down.

I COULD do that, but with my eye on my cholesterol it makes it not such a great idea. But I can wish.

I wish for retirement. But that's a big one.

Right now I just wish for weight loss each week. Even if it's just a pound or even 1/2 a pound. No gains.

I would love to be on the balcony of my cabin on a ship cruising the Inside Passage in Alaska. Maybe next summer.

Honestly find a different less stressful job. But I can't afford a pay cut. Hire a maid. Get Botox in my forehead because teaching is giving me wrinkles.

I would like to travel
Old 10-10-2019, 07:34 PM
  #24

I want the ability to see autumn color in its peak. which means being able to travel at the last minute.

I would like to go to Maui in February to see the whales.

I want to be in Australia in January.

I want to be in New Mexico for the balloon festival.

I want to wander through the Smithsonian museums. I want to be able to afford taxis and a great luxury hotel to rejuvenate in between museums.

I want someone else to drive me to see Mount Rushmore and Grand Canyon, Yellowstone,

Id like to see the Everglades.

Id like to go to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral.

Id like to see the bats in the big cave in New Mexico.
Id like to stay on Mackinac Island
I want to see the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
I want to spend time in Denali and watch the animals.
I guess I would like to retire so I have time to do these things. I would need cash flow too.

Hmmm. All of the above??

If I'm dreaming, I want it all.

But Amiga,
Quote:

I want all that BUT without having to make it myself and without the caloric penalty...

And I want all that without adding another person to my house so maybe I need George Jetson's household appliances (and Rosie) too.
