Another Google Classroom Question

Clip to ScrapBook #1

When we first started E-learning, after a few days of it, I turned off all notifications because I didn't want to get so many e-mails! I still don't want all those e-mails, but I would like to know when an assignment is turned in LATE. I check work the day after the due date, so I don't need notification that they turned it in, but I'm having trouble keeping track of the ones who turn it in late, since I don't get notifications. I have to constantly go and check, which I'd rather not do, and even if I didn't mind doing that, I'd still forget!

I can't even remember where to find my notifications anymore! I went to the little wheel in my the corner by my name, but that didn't have a notification settings. Where do I access notifications, and is it possible to just be notified when assignments are turned in late?

Look under settings. If you set the date for turn in items and you check the next day, no one will be late. If you are waiting a week then you can't tell who is late. I hope that helps!

Thanks. I do know how to set due dates, but I want to keep the due dates and just be notified if something is turned in late, so I remember to go back and look at it.

Settings for notifications can be found on the left hand side of the screen. If you have your classroom open, click on the three horizontal lines up at the left top. At the bottom, under your list o classrooms, you will see "settings." That is where you can turn things on and off.

I don't believe that there is an option to just turn on late notices, but you can look. There are a few options, I know.

I leave all notifications on and create filters in gmail. That way all the late notices go to a late folder, all the resubmitted go to a resubmited folder, comments go to comments, and "resolved comment" or "replied to comment" go into another folder.

Do you know how to use the To Do List? You can just click on that and scroll through once a day to see all the submissions, late or not.

Thank you all for your help! I fixed it! YAH! And...they had an option to send an e-mail when late work is submitted! YES! If only I knew sooner!

You prompted me to go in and fix mine, too. I have over 20 classes that I sponsor or coteach and the notifications are driving me crazy. I just had too many other things going to worry about it. Hopefully the changes help out.

Ditto what Gromit said. That's the best way I can think of to only get the alerts you want. Good luck!
