Can anyone recommend videos (or series of videos) that are good for 5th grade SS? I teach Native Americans, Explorers, Colonization, Am. Rev.
Thanks!

We watch "April Morning" about the Revolutionary War
We watch "Uncle Tom's Cabin" about Civil War ( We have a chat about the language)
We watch "I'll Remember April" about WW 2
We also watch my "Dear America" video about different events in history.
Hope this helps.

National Treasure

I showed this when I taught 5th grade.
It is exciting, historically accurate, and I was able to tie in a LOT with the time period. Every student was really attentive to the movie.

The 2nd National treasure only briefly touched on Ancient America, so I didn't feel as comfortable with that movie.
