Update to my sweetie's ER Visit: Kidney Stone

He said that, as soon as they told him, he remembered that he had one many years ago, same pain. It is small enough to pass in 2-3 days.

His daughter had already suggested that, as I guess it runs in his family. He is home now, medicated, in bed with a heating pad and cranberry juice.

I was surprised to hear that he was not tested for COVID-19. It will be difficult to keep him down, b/c he tends to be quite stoic and hates to not work. Haying season is upon us.

Thanks for all the kind words. I feel greatly relieved.

Glad to hear he is home and resting.

I have a similar story from my husband from many years ago.

Good luck keeping him down!

I'm glad you have him back home, now! Knowing there will soon be a remedy for his pain and having him near you, again, has to be a completely different feeling from just a few hours ago. (I understand passing that small stone is whole other ordeal, in and of itself. Both of you stay strong!)

Glad it's nothing worse.

I can say it is probably better for him to be up and around when he feels up to it. They told me movement moves all things!

Fluids until he feels like he's going to drown! . That's the best way to get it to pass quickly.

Glad it was a simple answer. Painful, but simple.

I'm glad it is not something requiring more extensive medical support, but I have heard those are very painful. I hope he passes the stone quickly and with as little pain as possible.

I'd like to say I'm glad it is as simple as a kidney stone, but I know better. I hope he passes it without problems. I was told by my doctor that his DW says it is worst then childbirth pain. I had no children so I can't say whether it is true or not I will say it is unimaginable pain.

I just commented on your other post and am glad to hear you have a diagnosis and that it is something that will pass on its own! I hope it happens sooner rather than later and I do hope his pain will be able to continue to be controlled! Please keep us updated!
