Hello,
I teach Title 1 Reading and we are currently required to use DIBELS NEXT for our diagnostic/screener. It is very time consuming and I am wondering what screeners many of you might use or find successful??
Thanks

We use AIMSweb for our universal screener and progress monitoring.

For diagnostic testing, we use PAST and QPS.

PAST is Phonological Awareness Skills Test. It is found in the book Sounds in Action by Yvette Zgonc.

QPS is Quick Phonics Screener. It is also a series of books called QPS Quick Phonics Screener by Dr. Jan Hasbrouck.

We use PAST with preschool, kindergarten, and early first grade. The QPS we use with 2nd-4th graders all year and the first graders near the end of the year.

My district uses Aimsweb as a universal screener.

Hi. For the amount of information Dibels gives you with one minute tests, I think it is a good assessment. It's also cheap at $1 a student for reading. We used to use expensive achievement tests school wide, I definitely prefer Dibels!
