Is there a better type of dry erase marker for laminated sheets that doesn't require rubbing to get the marker off?

Or is there a spray that quickly gets the marker off so the next person can use the laminated sheet?

What do you all do?

VisaVis marker comes off easily with a wet wipe...but the marker smear when wet. I think the dry erase should come off with a wet wipe too.

the plastic sheet protectors wipe off easier than laminated sheets. There seems less of a leftover "Ghost" once you wipe them.

Like the pp, I use plastic sheet protectors. They don't last as long as laminated sheets, but they are much, much easier to erase.

is an option for you, that works better than either. It seems thicker and firmer than things with hot lamination. I have also laminated scrapbook paper or old style construction paper for a little more firmness and a pop of color (or a way to tell different student's work apart.)

As for markers, the old style "stinky" markers wipe away much easier than the newer model "low odor" markers but you really can't find them any more. If you do find them, I think they work best in stations/centers because the smell is overwhelming in a whole class setting.

Have you tried the dry erase crayons? I haven't tried them on laminate, just my guided reading table, but the fact that they don't smear like expo markers makes me think that they would erase cleanly without a film left over.

I'm so grateful for your sharing your wisdom. I had no idea sheet protectors were a better option! I just know I can't take the rubbing on these laminated sheets. I'm going to try the wet wipes on them.

I'm off to buy some vis a vis markers and sheet protectors. I'm using them from now on.

I had one experience with the wipe-off crayons, and that was enough. It took too long to rub off, but maybe I don't know the most efficient way for the crayons either.

I have found that erasing black is easier than other colors.

I used a Magic Eraser!!

It worked like a charm. Fast and while some smeared color remained, it wasn't much and other kids could use the laminated sheets right after.
