Our school system has redistricted and we are going to have an open house for the new parents and students in a few weeks. Does anyone have any ideas on helping with this new transition?

They did this during the middle of the school year? That sounds so counterproductive...

I'm sorry I don't have any ideas to offer you.

I would treat the open house just like any open house. Give the parents the info about you and eveything they need to know to be a success in your class.

The kids however will be a little tougher. TEAM BUILDING TEAM BUILDING TEAM BUILDING I would focus the first week all together entirely on team building. The kids need to feel part of a unit group. otherwise the rest of the year you'll be teaching two groups. The old kids and the new kids.
